Going live

Requirements and timeline for launching debit order collections in production.

Prerequisites

Before going live, ensure you have:

  • Confirmed processing model (SO, TPPP, or TPPP-Hybrid)
  • Completed KYB (Know Your Business) and KYC (Know Your Customer) processes
  • Authorised PASA-approved abbreviated name and/or profile code
  • Signed MSA (Master Service Agreement) including:
  • Transactional and service pricing
  • Approved processing limits

Processing Models

System Operator (SO)

Best for: Large corporations

A non-bank entity providing services for payment instructions. Funds settle directly to your nominated bank account.

Requirements:

  • Standard Bank account
  • Standard Bank profile code and credit limits
  • PASA vetting and abbreviated name approval
  • End-to-end testing

Timeline: ~8 weeks

Third-Party Payment Provider (TPPP)

Best for: Small to mid-size businesses

Accept and hold funds for on-payment to third parties. Faster time to market.

Requirements:

  • Any bank account
  • Precium-approved credit limits
  • PASA vetting and abbreviated name approval
  • End-to-end testing

Timeline: ~3 weeks

TPPP-Hybrid

Best for: Mid to large corporates seeking fast market entry

Same as TPPP but collected funds settle into your own bank account.

Requirements:

  • Standard Bank account
  • Precium-approved credit limits
  • PASA vetting and abbreviated name approval
  • End-to-end testing

PASA Requirements

Abbreviated Name

Your abbreviated name:

  • Appears on customer bank statements
  • Must be unique and PASA-approved
  • Maximum 10 characters
  • Should reflect your trading name

Registration

All TPPPs must be registered with a clearing participant. Verify your registration status at PASA Authorisations.

Acquiring Bank

Currently, Precium supports debit order collections through Standard Bank as the acquiring bank.

SO and TPPP-Hybrid processing models require merchants to open a Standard Bank account for settlement purposes.

  • Privacy policy updated for debit order processing

When ready to launch:

  2. Complete final compliance review
  3. Receive production API credentials
  4. Update application configuration:
